United Front Games announced that their Sleeping Dogs Spin-off title, Triad Wars, will be shutting down in January. The game was an Free-to-Play Action MMO that featured a similar style of gameplay as the Square-Enix produced brawler, in which players would take on the role of an Enforcer, attempt to rise up and build an empire in the Triad crime ring.
“Since the start of the Triad Wars Closed Beta this year, diligent Enforcers have run rampant through the streets of Hong Kong, killing rivals and building Empires,” the developer said in a forum post announcing the shutdown. “During this time we have gathered immense amounts of feedback, information, and data on the game. We’ve loved seeing how you’ve played Triad Wars but we know it wasn’t right for many of you so we’re letting you know today that we are going to close the beta and service on January 20th 2016 at 12 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.”
The game was announced back in 2013 and entered Closed Beta earlier this year. It’s sad to see any game get shut down, especially one with the potential of Triad Wars.
