The second season of the Playstation Original series, Powers, which is based on the comic of the same name, is set to launch on PSN for free on May 31st in US and Canada. If that statement comes as a shock to you, then you’re probably in Canada and still waiting on the first season, which never aired.
Season 2 adds some more star power to its cast as by adding geek fan favourites such as Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight, Reservoir Dogs), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Starcraft 2), Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars, Galaxy Quest), and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek), who will be joining returning stars Sharlto Copley (District 9) and Susan Heyward (Vinyl).
Season 2 will follow an important part of the Powers comic arc, the death of one of the greatest hero in the Powers Universe, Retro Girl, and the implications of the hero’s death. The arc will be done through a 10-episode season, with the first 3 episodes being released on May 31st and following episodes being released on a weekly schedule.
Like with the first season, Powers will be free for Playstation Plus members. According to the Playstation Blog, the second season will be available in Canada unlike it’s previous season, however there is no word on if season one will also make an appearance in Canada as well.
