It took some time before Borderlands made the jump to the new PS4 and Xbox One consoles, with the Pre-Sequel launching on PS3 and Xbox 360 prior to being bundled with Borderlands 2 in the upcoming “Handsome Edition.” However Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford recently announced a new Borderlands game affectionately nicknamed “The Big One” being developed specifically for the PS4 and Xbox One.
Take-Two president Karl Slatoff stated specifically that the upcoming title will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One and will leave the previous generation behind during the company’s financial report released on February 3rd which saw Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel along with GTA V as major contributors to the company’s increase in revenue and net income.
While the next Borderlands game has only been announced as in development, with Randy Pitchford stating that it’s “The Big One” we can only assume it will be Borderlands 3, however there is no official name or release date as of yet. Currently if you want more Borderlands on your PS4 and Xbox One, you’ll have to wait for March for the re-release of Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel or you can enjoy Telltale’s story driven look at life on Pandora in Tales from the Borderlands.
