Happy America Day everybody, and what a better way to celebrate (aside from a new special What Were They Thinking Podcast episode) then to get the release date for an HD Remake of one of From Software’s lost games about the President of the United States fighting the Vice President in a giant mech.
Devolver Digital has announced that Metal Wolf Chaos, the previously Xbox Exclusive and only released in Japan action game, will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 6th 2019 and reasonably priced at $24.99 USD. Metal Wolf Chaos XD is being developed by General Arcade with several updates to the game including new visuals, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system and 4K + 16:9 support for modern displays.
For those who have never heard of this legendary rare gem from From Software (prior to being known as the studio who made Dark Souls), the game puts you in control of President Michael Wilson as he defends the nation against a full-scale rebellion lead by Vice-President Richard Hawk and his legion of mechanized troops. Armed to the Teeth, players will have to fight across several US landmarks including The Brooklyn Bridge, The Grand Canyon, and the front of the White House.
The game was originally released in December 2004 but never saw a global release. Back in 2016, Devolver Digital offered to publish the game for western audiences if From Software agreed, which followed by having the game announced during their 2018 E3 presentation.
