This year, we had a superhero showdown, Injustice 2 showcased that NetherRealm’s DC Brawler wasn’t a one hit wonder and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite brought back the classic franchise in time to face them. But we also were brought the final stage in the Tekken storyline and were completely impressed with a free-to-play platform brawler (that we’re still addicted to!) Here is our pick for the best fighting game of 2017.
NOMINEES:
Injustice 2 (NetherRealm/WB)
Tekken 7 (BandaiNamco)
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (Capcom)
Nidhogg 2 (Messhof Games)
Brawlhalla (Blue Mammoth Games)
WINNER:
Injustice 2
NetherRealm’s proved that they were the king of fighters this year with Injustice 2, delivering a fast and fun fighter staring the DC Superheroes and villains which improved greatly on the first entry in the series, from story, graphics, gameplay and cast. The DLC fighters have also left an impression with guest stars including Black Horse Comic’s Hellboy and upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (who recently teamed up with Batman in the comics) it’ll be interesting to see if a second season of content is on its way or if the team will hold out for a new entry later.
