To say Square Enix has been busy with Final Fantasy this year would be an understatement, not only are they focusing on the widely successful Final Fantasy XIV with plenty of updates, but they’re also releasing the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV in September, and working on a remake of Final Fantasy XII with the never released in North America Zodiac Job system. With all of this we tend to forget that another Final Fantasy game is on its way to PS4 and Vita. World of Final Fantasy.
Square Enix announced earlier today that World of Final Fantasy will indeed come out this year, with a plan release just one month after Final Fantasy XV, on October 25th 2016. The game offers a cutesy look at the franchise, throwing in some famous Final Fantasy characters in a chibi/Funko Pop style, and a new combat system that I recommend watching the adorable trailer above to understand.
In World of Final Fantasy, players will take control of twins, Reynn and Lann, and travel through the land of Grymoire on a search to rediscover their lost memories. Along the way they’ll find classic Final Fantasy Characters and Monsters to join their cause, and save the World (of Final Fantasy).
Since the game was shown at E3 last year, the GameItAll crew have been very excited to see this title. We’ll likely hear more about the title, along with the other Final Fantasy, at E3 next week.
