The Tony Hawk Pro Skater Series has been a staple in gaming since the Playstation era. The series has been around for over 18 years and over 30 Million copies sold, with the second game in the series listed as the 2nd best video game of all time according to Metacritic.
A new documentary; “Pretending I’m a Superman,” which is being directed by former Neversoft Producer, Ralph D’Amato, plans to explore how the game has affected gaming and Skateboarding. With interviews with ex-Neversoft employees who worked on the game, as well as Tony Hawk and various other skaters involved with the series from the first entry to the latest title in the series.
The team behind the documentary have released a trailer which already shows some great content explaining how the game really blasted off. Currently the team has shot about 20% of the movie and are looking for additional funding via Indiegogo. The project is seeking $75,000 and at the time of this writing has $9,141 with 24 days left to back the project.
