While speaking at an EA Play event in London, David Wightman (Respawn Entertainment’s head of development), has confirmed that all of Titanfall 2‘s map pack DLC will be released free of charge.
“We’ll definitely be supporting Titanfall 2 post-launch, and I can confirm all maps and modes we deliver post-launch will be free. We’ll be talking more about post-launch plans closer to release so stay tuned for more info,” Wightman stated.
As for what will be chargeable DLC; Wightman assured that there would not be any “Pay-to-win stuff” as that would break multiplayer balance if “some kid happened to pay an extra $40”. Keeping most paying DLC to strictly vanity items (IE: skins) is something gamers in general are OK with.
Titanfall 2 launches on the 28th of October, available on: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows.
