Nintendo definitely knows they got a good thing working out for them with the NES Classics, which infamously was short supply for the huge demand for the miniature console. Now we’re going to do it all over again with the SNES Classic, which Nintendo announced they will release on September 29 at a $79.99 USD.
Nintendo announced that the SNES Classic will feature 21 games. The Full list of games are as follows:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- EarthBound
- Final Fantasy III (Final Fantasy 6)
- F-ZERO
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Mega Man X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi’s Island
There are a lot of fan favourites but one really stands out, Starfox 2, a never before released game that went through development and was completed but was cancelled. Still there is a lot of awesome games that will make the SNES Classic worth the price point.
Now if Nintendo would actually do more on the production side so we don’t run into another NES Classic situation.
