Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within latest gameplay trailer sends a lot of images at us that doesn’t make much sense at this point. From giant monsters with safes on their heads, shambling zombies, and crazed barbed wire monsters, it’s easy to tell that the game is heavily inspired from his previous hit, Resident Evil 4.
The game stars detective Sebastian Castellanos, who’s sent along with other officers to check out a series of mysterious murders at the Beacon Mental Hospital. Shortly after the investigation starts, Sebastian’s collegues get slaughtered and he wakes up in a nightmare world filled with monsters that want him dead.
The Evil Within was shown at Pax East this year to mixed reviews from the audience, however we can’t wait to get our hands on the new Survival Horror game when it launches on August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC
