Sometime you get news that makes you check the date.
“Is it April? No, Christmas hasn’t even went by. So this is a real thing that is happening!”
This of course was my natural reaction to the announcement of a team-up between Point and Click adventure company Telltale Games (Wolf Among Us, Walking Dead) and Mojang (Minecraft) to bring us an episodic game titled Minecraft: Story Mode.
“Minecraft: Story Mode will be released episodically, just like The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead or the recent Tales from the Borderlands, which is another developer-collaboration series between Telltale Games and Gearbox Software,” the official blog post stated in helpful bullet points. “We’re not intending on creating an “official” story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.”
Mojang set up a special game titled InfoQuest II to deliver the news, which you can play here.
Telltale stated that they’ll be making an original story, driven by player choice and be working with the community to deliver as “Minecrafty” as possible.
