EA has confirmed early yesterday that Star Wars Battlefront 2’s Beta will be opening on October 6-9 (or 4-9 if you’ve pre-ordered) and that we should come to expect at least one map per two different modes, Galactic Assault and Starfighter Assault.
In Galactic Assault, players jump into a droid vs Clone army battle for Naboo, a battle that those who watched E3 would be familiar with. Players will be able to drive various prequel-era vehicles and take control of four classes – Assault Troopers, Heavy Troopers, Officers (who buff teammates and drop remote weapons) and Specialist (who snipe and plant traps). EA mentioned very little of Starfighter Assault except that it will be set during the original trilogy with players “piloting an assortment of Star Wars’ greatest ships in an objective-based, multi-stage battle.”
EA promises to share more about the Starfighter assault mode at Gamescom. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released on November 17th 2017 and will feature a full story-mode as well.
