Gameitall The long-awaited free expansion for our pick of best indie title of the year (2014), Yacht Club Game’s Shovel Knight, will be released on September 17th for Linux, Mac, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One.
The Plague of Shadows Expansion will feature a new quest and a new playable character in the form of Plague Knight, one of the Knights of No Quarter that Shovel Knight must defeat, as he attempts to create the Ultimate Potion, Serum Supernus, which he will have to retrieve the ingredients from his former allies.
The expansion also offers new bosses, a new way areas and new paths for classic levels, crafting, and new abilities such as bomb jumping and alchemy. You can check out the trailer for the expansion above.
