It’s back to school time, and as Summer Vacation comes to a close, it’s time once again for a new set of free games with Playstation Plus and Xbox Live’s Games for Gold. This month, we fight some aliens in a jungle-ruined New York, Raid some Tombs, Ram into our competition in armoured combat cars, and then rewind time to do it all over again.
Xbox One owners will once again be getting two for the system including Crescent Moon Games’ The Deer God, a side-scrolling platformer with 3D pixel art in which you play a hunter who is resurrected as a Deer. On Sept 16 – Oct 15, Gold subscribers will also be able to pick up Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix’s Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, a great way to get prepped for the upcoming release of the Xbox One (timed) exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider which is set to be released on November 10th.
Xbox 360 owners will get to see the Pacific Theatre of World War 2 with Edios Hungary’s Battlestations: Pacific, which will be available between Sept 1st-15th, after which it will be swapped with Crytek’s jungle based First Person Shooter, Crysis 3, for the rest of the month.
There is something different with this month’s Playstation Plus picks, as one of these was voted by the community. PSPlus subscribers will be able to pick up Ubisoft’s Grow Home, which beat out Armello and Zombie Vikings. The two titles that didn’t win will be available for 30% off between Sept 1st and 15th.
Joining the PS4 titles is Capy’s action platformer, Super Time Force ULTRA, and Rain Games’ Teslagrad, which will also be free on PS3 and Vita. Joining the PS3 Instant game collection is Eat Sleep Play’s Twisted Metal remake. Finally, Pygmy Studio’s remake of the 2005 platformer, La-Mulana EX, and Renegade Kid’s XeoDrifter lead the charge for Vita. XeoDifter will also be available on PS4.
