It’s no secret that we love Rocket League, the Soccer with rocket powered battle cars game from Psyonix, but it feels like something is missing… Aside from our logo being missing in the community flags I mean.
That would be the lack of Hockey… With Rocket Powered Battle Cars.
That has changed thanks to Rocket League’s latest update which is now available. The update adds a new hockey-esque mutator mode called Snow Day, which is played on an Ice based arena with a puck instead of ball. This can be played in a new, dedicated online playlist, which replaces the existing Mutator Mashup playlist.
If you’re not interested in the Snow Day Mutator, you’ll still be able to unlock some new items for a limited time just by playing the game. This includes 7 festive items such as:
- “Xmas” Rocket Trail
- “Blitzen” Topper
- “Christmas Tree” Topper
- “Sad Sapling” Topper
- “Santa” Topper
- “Candy Cane” Antenna
- “Holiday Gift” Antenna
The best part about the update is that it is completely free and doesn’t require any previous paid content to unlock. Rocket League is available on PC and PS4, however it was announced during The Game Awards this year that it will be launching on Xbox One as well, however that version will not feature cross-play support.
