Resident Evil is a big hit for Capcom, so it makes sense that the series is seen everywhere, from Big Hollywood Blockbusters, collectible card games, to even a fragrance based on the iconic T-Virus. So it only makes sense that the next step for the series would be a stage musical!
The Official Stage Musical will premiere this Fall in Japan and is currently under the tentative name of Musical Resident Evil. The Musical will be handled by G2, and Osaka’s Umeda Arts Theatre, and star Reon Yuzuki, who has made a career of playing male characters while at the all-female Takarazuka Revue.
The show will be an original musical and is slated to run in Tokyo from September to October and open in Osaka in November; with Resident Evil series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi overseeing the production.
This isn’t the first Capcom series to get it’s own stage production, as Takarazuka Revue previously did a production of the Ace Attorney games which was met with stellar reviews.
