Before Resident Evil 6 was released and was a huge disappointment to many fans, we were given hope for the series from a 3DS title called Resident Evil Revelations. Focusing on what made titles like Resident Evil 4 great and bringing back fan favourites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield in a story that was set prior to Resident Evil 5, it was tense return to form for the series.
Since its release, the game had been ported multiple times, and later this month will finally release on PS4 and Xbox One. This new version features a smoother 1920×1080 resolution, an improved framerate, increased environmental detail and refined creature movement, and all the previously released DLC as an unlockable reward.
Also returning is the fan favourite Raid Mode, which has players taking on the role of various Resident Evil heroes in an arcade like game to compete for the highest score. Included in this mode is “The Ghost Ship: Chaos,” a fresh take on a popular stage with more powerful weapons and ways for players to upgrade their arsenal and different enemy placements.
The updated version of Revelations wil hit PS4 and Xbox One on August 29th, while a Nintendo Switch version with both Revelations and its follow-up Resident Evil Revelations 2, which featured Claire Redfield and Barry Buton in a new episodic story, will be available later in 2017.
