Double Fine has gotten some help for the release of their highly anticipated sequel to their cult classic platformer, Psychonauts 2. Starbreeze Studios, best known for the Payday series and Dead by Daylight, have released details about a publishing deal for $8 Million Dollars to handle Marketing and Distribution of the game.
According to the report, Starbreeze will get 85% of Psychonauts 2 revenue until they recuperate that funding, after that point, the publisher will take 60% of that cut. The best part of this deal is that Double Fine will keep all rights to the game and its franchise.
No release date has been given for the 2005 follow-up, however a smaller Virtual Reality game based on the franchise, Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, will be hitting Playstation VR on February 21st.
