Retailers that offer pre-orders on the new PSVR bundle are reporting already being sold out from the heavy demand. The current bundle being offered for $499 includes: VR headset, PlayStation Camera, a pair of PlayStation Move controllers, stereo headphones, PlayStation VR Worlds game disc, PlayStation VR demo disc, and all necessary cables (like HDMI and USB). This of course, does not include the console itself, which is sold separately (for now.)
Starting March 29th, there will also be a $399 bundle offered for those who already own the camera and move controllers, which includes: headset, cables, headphones, and demo disc.
While the release date isn’t until October, it’s interesting to see how much momentum the PSVR gained as it’s being considered the ‘underdog’ compared to Rift and Vive. Nintendo does not have anything firm (though it’s assumed something will be out for the NX); and Microsoft is still a long way from a commercial use for Hololens at this time.
