2017 is proving to be amazing for horror titles as Red Barrels announced this week that the sequel to their hit Run-and-Hide horror title Outlast will be launching on April 25th 2017. Outlast 2 will move the horror from the tight, claustrophobic corridors of Mount Massive Asylum to the open fields of the Arizona Dessert.
Players will take control of Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his journalist wife Lynn as they uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. Following the clues of the impossible murder of a pregnant woman only known as Jane Doe, they are thrown into an investigation that will lead them that will likely turn into a fight for survival against all manner of crazy psychopaths out for blood.
The game will be available digitally as a stand-alone or physically as part of the Trinity Bundle, which will package the original Outlast and its prequel DLC, Whistleblower. Outlast Trinity will be available for PS4 and Xbox One from Warner Bros Interactive.
Outlast 2 joins what appears to be a revival in horror genre with the like of Resident Evil 7, 2Dark, Call of Cthulhu and others. Red Barrels released a demo of the game back in November to keep us excited for the title, which worked extremely well. Check out our live-stream where Lucas screams like a little girl below.
