Have you ever looked at a game and went, “this would be better on the NES in glorious 8-bit graphics” and instantly thought about Vanillaware’s Action RPG Odin Sphere?
I hope not! The game is graphically beautiful! Why would you think otherwise?
If you are one of those thinkers or just can’t wait to get your hands on the upcoming PS4/PS3/Vita HD remake, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, then Atlus and Vanillaware have a surprise for you.
Available on their website is a quick web game of what Odin Sphere would look like if it was made for the NES. The game is completely in Japanese but is simple enough, players will take the role of Gwendlyn the Valkyrie as she fights a series of monsters coming at her with her spear. Players will earn EXP for every enemy they defeat, and the game ends if the heart containers are empty.
The browser game was announced via the company’s twitter account in which they asked if players would like to see a demake of the RPG. The tweet gained a lot of support and cleared the bar of 28,888 related tweets, Atlus then confirmed that the demake would be released some time in 2016.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is set for a June 7th 2016 release date
