Spike Chunsoft announced that a new entry in the Fire Pro Wrestling series will be coming to PS4 and PC in the near future. While the Playstation 4 version of the game’s release is listed as TBD, PC players will be able to get their hands on the game “soon” thanks to Steam’s Early Access with “online matchmaking and basic editing tools” at launch.
The new Fire Pro Wrestling title looks to incorporate everything we expect from the series at this time. Including the same 2D brawling design, crazy customization options and of course a handful of match types. So far, the developers have confirmed “Deathmatch (steel cage, barbed wire or landmines), MMA rules and no-holds barred Gruesome Fighting.”
The Fire Pro Wrestling series was first released back in 1989 and has been a fan-favourite wrestling inspired by Japanese Wrestling circuits. The most famous version of this game was Super Fire Pro Wrestling: Final Bout, which had a story mode written by Killer7 and No More Heroes creator, Suda51, and was the first title he worked on.
No release date has been announced for the Early Access version of the game, however Spike has confirmed that they will be using the Early Access to improve the game from fan feed back.
