The highly anticipated Sony Exclusive, The Last of Us, is set to be released in 2 weeks which makes this the perfect time to talk about it’s upcoming DLC. The Uncharted developer has announced that there will be a Season Pass for the upcoming game which will feature 3 pieces of DLC including 2 multiplayer map packs (which Naughty Dog has kept very quiet about) and 1 single player add-on. The Season Pass will be priced at $19.99, which Naughty Dog states that it equates to a 30% saving on the individual pieces of DLC. It will also include some ‘Day 1 Bonuses,’ namely a number of in-game upgrades and an “exclusive” 90-minute making of documentary called ‘Grounded.’
While we look forward to seeing how the game will look on our PS3, Naughty Dog is looking to the future with the PS4. As they mentioned in a interview with Digital Spy, Naughty Dog’s game director Bruce Straley stated that they will be bringing the “Last of Us” Engine over to the PS4 as opposed to making a new engine as they did from when they crossed over from the PS2 to PS3.
“We scrapped everything at the beginning of Uncharted 1, and we had a perfectly good engine with the Jak & Daxter franchise,” said Straley. “We could have started with something there and then built off of it and only changed the pieces and parts as we needed, when we needed. And that really caused a lot of turmoil.”
While we anxiously wait for the upcoming survival action game, players who own a copy of God of War Ascension can play an early demo of the game now though the game’s main page.
