It’s important to note that if you piss off fans enough, you’re likely to get things done (Keep this in mind Psyonix, we really want to see that cross-platform play for Rocket League). Back in early September, Bethesda announced that due to unspecified restrictions from Sony the promised Mods for Fallout 4 and the upcoming Skyrim Remastered would not be coming to PS4.
According to Bethesda, Mod and PS4 Pro support will be coming to the remastered version of Skyrim first when it launches on October 28th, with “native 4K” rendering available on the more powerful console. Bethesda plans to work on Fallout 4 Mods and 4K support shortly after work on Skyrim has finished. “We expect Fallout 4 to take advantage of the PS4 Pro in 4k along with enhanced lighting and graphics features,” the company added.
There is one limitation that the PS4 version will have however. Bethesda stated that “You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do.”
Fallout 4 and Skyrim mods can be built using the free to download Creation Kit from Bethesda. Read Bethesda’s full blog post here.
