Bad news for the fans of the online multiplayer game Nosgoth, based on the Eidos action game The Legacy of Kain, will be shutting down at the end of May according to publisher Square Enix.
“It is with a heavy heart and an immense sense of sadness that we must announce the end of Nosgoth’s development,” the team behind the Windows PC game wrote in a post. Servers for the Windows PC game, which launched in Early Access in 2014, will shut down completely on May 31.
The game will remain active until that time, however players will no longer be able to purchase additional in-game content, and any money spent on the game from March 1st onward will be refunded.
It’s sad to see the game get shuttered as it did have potential to be something awesome. In our Early Access review, we gave the game a 7/10 citing that the game combat and classes were fun to play, as well as praising the game’s progression and upgrade system.
