Square Enix announced a new Kingdom Hearts compilation titled Kingdom Hearts 2.8. The compilation will include a HD remake of the 3DS title, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, as well as two new playable stories that will lead up to the prologue of Kingdom Hearts 3.
The other two titles in the collection are Unchained X called Back Cover, which set to tell the tale of the Foretellers and revealing new parts of the series’ history, and Birth by Sleep 0.2 – A Fragmentary Passage -, which is a completely new part of the story taking place after the events of the original Birth by Sleep, told from the perspective of Aqua.
This announcement follows the leaked LinkedIn information for something called Kingdom Hearts 2.9, although it does appear that we were mislead about the game’s name.
