Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has received a free upgrade for the Xbox Series X and Series S for anyone who owns the game or uses the Xbox Game Pass, with a PC upgrade “currently in development.” However, no planned upgarde is set for Playstation and Switch owners.
The new optimized Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice gives players three visual settings – Performance, resolution, and enriched. Performance mode on Series X offers dynamic resolutions to 1080p at 120 Hz frame rates; it’s full HD and 60 fps on Series S. Resolution mode on Series X prioritizes dynamic resolutions to 4K, at 60 fps; Series S gets dynamic resolution support to 1440p at 30 fps. Finally, Enriched offers ray tracing on both the Series X and Seris S, supporting resolutions up to 4K on the Series X, and 30 frames per second on both consoles.
“Also being added: Texture resolution bump, Chapter select, increased particle quality, increased draw distance, higher levels of detail,” the game’s official website says.
According to Ninja Theory, the team behind the Switch version of the game, QLOC, handled the upgrade freeing up the studio to continue working on the game’s upcoming sequel, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 which is still in early development.
