The Condemned series has been dorment for some time now, with the first game in the series, Condemned: Criminal Origins, was released as a Xbox 360 launch title in 2005 while it’s sequel, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, came to PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, leaving with a cliffhanger that was never resolved.
Former Monolith CEO and founder of Monolith studio, Jason “Jace” Hall, has been gauging interest in the possibility of a third game in the series. He stated on his Facebook page that he is “consistently asked when a third [Condemned] game might be created.”
However Jace currently has his hands full according to his Facebook post, “Since I am focused on other things, and will be for quite some time, this franchise is just sitting there.” However there is great news for fans of the horror/brawler as after he stated that he is looking for an indie development team and providing the game to them so they can move it forward.
“As an indie, it can be very hard to get marketing/media attention for a title that you work on. This franchise is already quite known, has market demand, and is in an innovative genre/category.”
Jace currently holds the licence to the game and in the right hands the horror brawler could be amazing. As a fan of the series I would like to say that I completely support this idea and really hope that a great team will take over. If you want to show your support for the title, don’t forget to head over to Jace’s Facebook and Twitter page.
