Fallout 76 has been having some major issues in and out of the game. While the launch has been messy, to put it nicely, with complaints stability of the servers to balance of the items, and regarding refunds for the game and issues with the game’s collectors edition.
The latest issue expands from the Fallout 76 “Power Armor” Edition, which was to come with a functional Brotherhood of Steel helmet and canvas bag, which was later replaced with a nylon replacement due to costs. After initially offering some in-game currency of 500 atoms, Bethesda announced that they now had plans to replace the nylon bags with the originally planned canvas bags.
While this should have been the end of it, a security issue occurred on Bethesda’s support site, where the company was instructing customers to file a claim if they purchased the Power Armor edition. The error allowed customers to access others personal data while submitting the report which according to users on Reddit, included addresses, emails and partial credit card information.
Since the reveal, Bethesda has corrected the issue after a brief outage of their support site, however this situation is another notch of issues (albeit a big one) that has plagued Bethesda after the release of the online focused game. The post-launch struggles included seeing the game drop by 50% during Black Friday only a week after launch, and the latest patch which “stealth nerf” several features and introduced a load of game-breaking bugs.
