Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to star in Rampage, based on the 80’s video game.

With the recent success of Godzilla and San Andreas, it’s easy to see that disaster movies are back in full swing, and combining the two mentioned movies into one will surely gain box office attention, right?  It just so happens that this concept already happened in the 80’s thanks to Midway with the hit game Rampage.

Rampage was a game that saw giant monsters, in the form of George, Lizzie and Ralph, ( a Gorilla, Lizard and Wolf respectively) go on a global rampage, destroying cities and eating it’s citizens. The movie version will see these three monsters go toe-to-toe with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The movie will be scripted by Ryan Engle (Non-Stop), and New Line is working to fill the open directing assignment now.

The movie is set to start filming after Johnson finishes production on Fast and the Furious 8. We’re hoping that the movie is worked out to be more of a comedic action adventure movie, since the original game and it’s sequel “World Tour,” had a lot of great elements in it that would be perfect for it.
