During a special livestream event, Square-Enix announced a new entry in the fan-favourite Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest 11 is in development for the 3DS and Playstation 4. The game will also be available on the new Nintendo NX when that console arrives.
While specifics on the game are scarce at the moment, we do know that the PS4 version will be using the Unreal 4 engine, while the 3DS version will be handled by a third party company and follow a more traditional top-down style reminiscent of the original NES Dragon Quest games.
Dragon Quest XI wasn’t the only Dragon Quest game announced on the stream as the MMO entry of the series, Dragon Quest X, will also be coming to the PS4 and NX. Previously the MMO was only available on Wii U, 3DS, and PC.
