While Dontnod has been seeing some success with their time-travel episodic game “Life is Strange” and are currently working on a Vampire RPG title, they’ve also been hard at work with building a concept and story for a sequel to the game that really got them started, Remember Me.
In an interview with Siliconera, creative director, Jean-Maxime Moris said, “We know what we would do for Remember Me 2. The main story has been written. We know what we would add to the recipe. We know what we would fix. It’s a game that’s ready to be made, but that decision is Capcom’s to make.”
While reception for Remember Me was mixed, we here thought the game was like a good Luc Besson (Taken, District 9, The Fifth Element) which earned it a 7 out of 10, a great score for a new IP. However other sites were not as generous prompting the developer to state that the game was “misunderstood” and was “buried under the hype of The Last of Us” which came out around the same time.
Capcom has stated that they have “made no announcements about a new Remember Me title.” It doesn’t mean that it might not come true. Whatever Capcom chooses though, Dontnod still has a commitment to see through their episodic game “Life is Strange.” Moris continued in the interview saying “Obviously we need to see and Square Enix needs to see how the first season [of Life is Strange] does to really decide whether we kick it off or not.”
