The port of the PSVita Digimon game, Digimon World: Next Order, has been confirmed by Bandai Namco to be released for North America on PS4. The PS4 updgrade of the well received Digimon title was announced earlier this week at the Tokyo Game Show and promises “Enriched and Enhanced” graphics according to the publisher.
Enhanced graphics isn’t the only upgrade that Next Order will see, as Bandai Namco has confirmed to include 12 new playable Digimon, including MarineAngemon, IceDevimon and Boltmon, as well as feature better game balancing making the PS4 version more challenging. Players will have the opportunity to raise and travel with up to 200 different type of Digimons and for the first time in the series, be allowed to train 2 Digimon at once.
For those unfamiliar with the Digimon World: Next Order story, Bandai Namco also release this synopsis:
Digimon World: Next Order begins when players are sucked into the Digital World to discover it is under siege by Machinedramons. Rescued by two Digimon from impending doom, players must forge forward with their Digimon partners and journey through the Digital World to discover the origins of the Machinedramon scourge and find a way back to the real world.
Unfortunately for Vita fans, there are no plans of bringing the PSVita version to North America.
