The long awaited sequel to the popular Warhammer 40K RTS, Dawn of War 3, was officially announced earlier this week via a brutal 4 minute cinematic which shows a squad of Blood Ravens getting easily decimated by Orks and Eldars.
Dawn of War 3 is the first of the series to be published by Relic as a Sega owned studio, and the studio is planning big things for the RTS, as players will be able to control massive units like the Space Marines’ Imperial Knight, the Ork Gorkanaut and the Eldar Wraithknight, and deploy destructive abilities like Orbital Bombardment, Ork Rokks and Eldritch Storm.
“This is the Dawn of War that fans have been waiting for,” said executive producer Stephen MacDonald in a statement. “Our biggest units ever? Check. Giant orbital lasers? Check. Base-building, epic heroes, huge battles, it’s all in there. Get ready for the biggest Dawn of War yet. For the Emperor!”
Dawn of War 3 is currently set to launch in 2017 for PC.
