It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that THQNordic announced the third Darksiders game yesterday, as the dark adventure series sold extremely well on last gen and THQNordic also pushed out HD Remakes of the two titles (dubbed Warmastered Edition and Deathinitive Edition), plus Darksiders’ creative director Joe Madureira confirming in 2014 that the series was not dead despite THQ’s Bankruptcy, and that “The new owner, Nordic, seems very committed to continuing the series.”
Darksiders 1 and 2 followed the story of War and Death, 2 of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse in a war between Heaven and Hell in an Apocalypse that has happened before the seals were broken. While War fought to prove his innocence and Death attempted to undo War’s punishment, Darksiders 3 will bring us in the shoes of a new Rider, Fury, who is tasked by the Charred Counsel to hunt down the Seven Deadly Sins.
You can check out the first look of Fury in the new trailer from IGN, which gives us a glimpse of Fury in action. Darksiders 3 is currently set for a 2018 release.
