Konami’s Pre-E3 meeting has given life to some new information on Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2 including a vague release date of later this winter. The game will feature an open-world style of game bouncing from Gabriel Belmont’s reign as Dracula against enemy forces in medieval times, and a more modern setting. Mercury Steam’s Enric Alvarez notes that the game will allow players to freely explore the game’s world without loading times. While much of the game will take place in Dracula’s castle, players will also be able to explore a surrounding modern-day city in order for the world to “grow organically, and not level-to-level.”
Alvarez also described the game to have a much darker tone than it’s predecessor and will feature a more strategic combat system. The new trailer has given some light into how the game will progress, showing off Gabriel’s new powers as well as some new characters to the Lords of Shadows series.
