Sledgehammer games has detailed what we’ll be able to see in The Private Multiplayer Beta which starts next week for PS4 for those who have pre-ordered the game.
First of which is the standard Call of Duty Multiplayer list, we’ll be given three multiplayer maps which include Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes and Gibraltar which will be playable over three different modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint). We’ll also be given a peek at Call of Duty: WWII’s new War mode.
While details on War was limited at this time, Sledgehammer confirmed that the mode was made by Raven Software and will be an immersive Allied vs. Axis fight across the war-torn village of St. Lo, France.” Earlier reports suggested that this would be a multiplayer based Mission Mode in which players would try to control points or reach certain goals, it is unclear if this is correct at the moment.
The Beta will also give us a look at the new Divisions, which will replace the Pick __ Class System created by Treyarch for Black Ops 2 and been the multiplayer standard for the series. The new Divisions will have players join specific ranks as an Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored or Mountain Division, each of which have their own combat and weapon skills.
What we know won’t be in the Multiplayer Beta will be the Headquarters Social Space and in-game supply drops and loot. Which is a shame because we’re really curious how this will actually turn out.
The beta will take place on Aug. 25th 2017 for PS4 players, Xbox One owners who pre-ordered will have to wait until September 1st to strap their boots and dive into the game. For anyone who hasn’t pre-ordered, Call of Duty: WWII will be released on November 3rd for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
