Today’s big “no s**t” news announcement comes from the CEO of Activision Publishing Eric Hirshberg announcing that the next Call of Duty game will be launching this fall and will be developed by World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2 developer Treyarch.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the biggest name in shooters will be making it’s yearly return, in fact, Activision planned this with their proposed three-year three-developer strategy which included Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games.
Hirshberg did want to mention that the late Treyarch game (Black Ops 2) remains the biggest selling titles in franchise history. “This fall’s game will be Treyarch’s first on the three-year development cycle,” he said. “It will be loaded with innovation, and we’re excited to share more details with our community soon.”
