Bethesda and Machine Games are returning to Castle Wolfenstein in a new Stand-alone add-on called Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Set to be a prequel to Machine Game’s Shooter of the Year winner Wolfenstein: The New Order, and takes place several months before the events that put protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz gets put into a coma.
In “The Old Blood” players will return as B.J. Blazkowicz as he embarks on a 2 part mission in 1942, the first titled “Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves” will have players fight “a maniacal prison warden as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an attempt to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound.” While the second mission titled “The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs,” will send players to Wulfburg, where they will meet “an obsessed Nazi archaeologist [who] is exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.”
The add-on will be priced at $19.99 and you do not need Wolfenstein: The New Order in order to play it. Currently it is set for a May 5th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the add-on will not be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 unlike its original game.
