SNK Playmore and Atlus USA division have teamed up in order to publish the next highly anticipated fighter, King of Fighters XIV. The long standing 2D fighter will be making its way exclusively to PS4 later this year with 50 playable fighters, and marking a new era for the fighter, all characters will be presented in 3D, something that the series hasn’t seen since its spin-off title; King of Fighters: Maximum Impact.
While the series signature 3v3 battles remain mostly unchanged, however SNK have been doing updates to the game’s engine, improving controls, combos and MAX mode mechanics in an attempt to bring hardcore fans and newcomers the most competitive, but accessible, game in KOF history. One of the new additions to the game is Party Mode, which will allow 2 teams of 3 fighters duke it out online with KOFXIV’s improved Online Code.
No release date was given as of yet, however Atlus released a gallery of screenshots based on two brand new fighters, Kukri and Mui Mui, which you can view below. King of Fighters XIV will have 50 playable fighters, 31 returning and 19 new, all available when the game launches.
