Armature studio’s Dead Star was released back in April for Steam and PS4 (even was the free PSPlus title for the month) but due to a small player-base the game will be losing a major component, online multiplayer, otherwise known as the only reason to Play Dead Star.
SteamSpy shows that the active users for the team based, twin-stick space shooter, is just under 4,000 users, however shows that there has only been 2 concurrent players since yesterday.
Online play will be removed from Dead Star on November 1st and the game has already been removed from Steam and PSN for purchase, however players who have previously brought the game can enjoy it until the servers shutdown. Considering how heavy the online focus was for Dead Star, it is likely to be left dead in the water after the servers shut down.
