Apex Legends from Titanfall Developers – Respawn Entertainment – was a surprise launch that quickly gathered up 25 million players within the first week of being active. While Respawn is hard at work on another Titanfall Universe title and the upcoming Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Apex Legends will still be seeing plenty of updates as noted in a Year 1 Roadmap.
Starting in March, players will be able to purchase a Battle Pass for Apex Legends, which seems to follow Fortnite’s example closely, with new skins and gear that can only be earned through the battle pass itself. Aside from the passes, each season (which lasts 3 months) will also include a new Legend, new weapons and new loot.
At this time, we are unaware of how the content for the season will be rolled out, if everything will come when the season starts or be slowly introduced to the game, but we’ll keep an eye out for more information as it’s released.
Apex Legends brings the Titanfall Universe to the Battle Royale genre. Focusing on 3 player squads and using the established mechanics from our 2016 Shooter of the Year winner, Apex Legends takes much of what we like about the genre and fixes a lot of its weaknesses. The game is available now and is a free-to-play title, so you really have no excuse to give it a try.
