What was originally planned as the next Duke Nukem game until a lawsuit forced 3D Realms to remove the iconic badass and undergo a character change, the top down shooter BombShell will be delayed until January 29th 2016.
Frederik Schreiber from Interceptor Entertainment advise that the delay is due to a large number of bugs, that couldn’t be fixed before launch or with a day one patch. “Over the last several weeks, we’ve been exhaustively testing Bombshell to get it ready for ship,” he wrote on the game’s Steam page. “Unfortunately, and honestly, the game isn’t entirely bug free at this point. Our first instinct was to just get this puppy out the door, and that we could fix the remaining issues with a quick patch after launch. But within ten seconds we realized that’s no way to treat paying fans of our games.”
A PS4 and Xbox One version of the game was to follow the PC release with an early 2016 release, however it is not known at this time if the PC delay will cause the console version to be pushed back as well.
Bombshell was originally supposed to launch some time this month via Steam and GOG.com.
