The long awaited sequel to Zero Escape and 999 visual novels are currently in production at Spike Chunsoft and is currently set for a Summer release on 3DS and PSVita. The game was announced by Kotaro Uchikoshi, the game’s director and writer for series, during an Aksys games panel at Anime Expo 2015 in Los Angeles.
A quick voice over trailer was shown during the panel with the words “escaping in Summer 2016” written. During some other panels throughout the expo, the game continued to pop up with Uchikoshi adding that the game will have familiar faces, along with the series staple multiple endings, and cinematic voice over in both English and Japanese. Danganronpa writer Kazutaka Kodaka mentioned that he knew a lot about the game’s story including it’s ending and stated that “it is probably the most out-of-this-world ending so far.”
If you’re looking to catch up on the dark graphic novel series, 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors, is available on the 3DS and iOS (without puzzles.) While Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward is available on both 3DS and VITA.
