The Yakuza series has seen a resurgance thanks to the PS4 run – including the Kiwami remakes of the first and second game, it was only a matter of time for the rest of the series to drop with a similar remastered treatment. Today at Gamescom, Sega has announced that the last three games of the series will be coming to PS4 with Yakuza 3 getting dropped Today.
The last three titles of the series is being released as the Yakuza: Remastered Collection which unlocks Yakuza 3 today, with Yakuza 4 releasing on October 29th and Yakuza 5 on February 11, 2020. The releases will bring an visual upgrade for each games, improving the 780p to 1080p, and boost the framerate to 30 to 60. Sega also announced that the cut content from each game will also be put back in – including Mahjong, Shogi, Massage Parlor, Cabaret minigames, as well as a collection of Substories cut from the original release will be available for the first time in the west.
There will also be a limited run physical edition which will include all three titles over two disks, and a red collectible case emblazoned with Kiryu’s trademark dragon tattoo. Also because this is marking the first time that Yakuza 5 is available physically in the West, Sega is including a PS3 case for Yakuza 5 for those who are missing a spot in their collection.
The Collection is available today and is priced at $59.99, for those looking to pick up the origins of Kiryu Kazuma, you’d be able to pick up the Origins Collection which consists of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 for $49.99
