Sega’s upcoming Yakuza sequel is going full JRPG with turn based battles, a party of characters and thank to new information from Famitsu – a Job system that will see our heroes take on various roles to kick all sorts of gangster ass. In the article, Sega intro duced the “Hello Work” building which will allow you to choose your specific job and introduced 4 classes to choose from: The Dancer, Fortune-teller, Mobile Task Force and Idol.
The Dancer Class acts similar to Majima in Yakuza 0, allowing for quick light attacks that can clear out crowds and offers a lot of tricky skills. The Fortune-teller acts like the Mage in Yakuza 7, offering low defensive stats but giving the user various disasters and mysterious effects like thunder by “fortune-telling”.
The Mobile Task Force is like a Knight in most JRPGs, giving a heavy body armour that gives a high defensive power and toughness. This class specializes in defense but is difficult to fight, mentioning that the class is more recommended for characters with low physical strength and defense.
Finally we got the Idol, acting like a healer or priest and is exclusive to female characters. The class seems to be an easy to use all purpose job that uses recovery skills by singing and attacks with a microphone.
Along with the new job classes, we also got a small trailer that give an idea of how the new “Live Command RPG Battle” system will work as well as a glimpse at some other jobs and their special abilities. Yakuza 7 is confirmed to be coming to the West some time in 2020, but will first launch in Japan in January.
