If you’re looking to enjoy the Yakuza 6 demo out today (Feb 27 2018) then you’re going to have to free up some space on your PS4 hard drive. It was reported by users on Australia’s PSN where the game was already available, that the demo was listed as 36.53 GB.
The PSN description of the Demo states that it will include the game’s prologue. This makes sense with Sega’s previous statement that the save data from the demo version can be carried over into the full game, which is now due out for April 17th in North America and Europe, after being delayed from the previously scheduled March 20th release.
For a demo, 36.53 GB is huge, considering that most Triple A titles hit an average of about 50GB. Given that it is the prologue, we can assume most of that space comes from the many cutscenes and likely some mini-games that make the series popular.
Sega announced the Yakuza 6 demo alongside the game’s delay, however Sega did not confirm as of why the game was delayed at the time, only stating that “This was a tough business decision we didn’t make lightly.”
