With the team hard at work on Yakuza 5, Sega released information about one a new playable character and how they will react to the Yakuza world.
Hakura, the adopted daughter of the series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu; is taking center stage as a playable character, featuring a storyline involving Hakura wanting to become a Japanese Idol. The usual battle system for Hakura doesn’t seem to be a good fit, so the team has created a new Dance Battle mode to keep the action going.
A Dance battle takes form of a rhythm game in which you compete against other dancers, preforming moves increases the Heat Gauge like the series hand to hand fights, which allows Hakura to preform “Dance Heat Moves.”
Also like Yakuza’s hand to hand mode, there is a parallel RPG element mixed in with it called “expression power” which is awarded by the audience. This will allow Hakura to buy new powers.
