If you couldn’t tell from our game of the year awards, we absolutely loved Firaxis’ XCom: Enemy Unknown, so much so that it won our RPG of the year. Firaxis just announced today that the poplar turn based strategy game will be coming to the iPad and iPhone during their Pax East panel.
“It is a straight port. We have not made any gameplay exceptions,” XCOM: Enemy Unknown Lead Designer Jake Solomon said, “You play the exact same game [as on PC or consoles], it’s just now fully playable on an iPhone or an iPad.” When he was asked about the pricing however he did dance around the subject stating that “It’s going to be priced appropriately for what it is. It’s going to be a premium price point. It is the game. It is the full game.”
The game is set to be released this summer and will include the Elite Soldier DLC, but not the Slingshot missions. No word on if the “Second Wave” free DLC will be included.
