Pentavus Team 17’s newest Worms game, Worms W.M.D, just got a multiplayer trailer reveal today showing what to expect from the game later this year.
In the newest iteration, the classic gameplay mechanics of Worms that we know will be coming back with some new twists added. The biggest change noticeable is the addition of vehicles in the crawler’s arsenal, notably tanks and helicopters!
Team 17 also shared some of the information regarding online play. The game will feature 6 players online matches, all armies sporting 8 worms and will also support Ranked Play.
As a celebration of the 21st anniversary of Worms this year, Team 17 crunched a whole lot of numbers to present some statistics of the long warfare history in Worms. The series sold over 70 millions units since it first launched and while we are talking about launching, players have launched 77,284,857 Super Sheeps over the years, definitely helping the death toll of those poor worms to reach over 3 billion!
